Climent Nadeu obtained his Telecommunication Engineering degree in 1977 and his PhD in 1982, both from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain. He currently is full professor at the UPC since 1991. He has been teaching courses mainly in the areas of signal processing and speech technologies, along with a few courses on the topic of technoscience, ethics and society. During his sabbatical leaves he was visiting researcher at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill (NJ), at the International Computer Science Institute, Berkeley (CA), and at Griffith University, Brisbane (Australia).

Climent has more than 200 publications in books, scientific journals and relevant conference proceedings, he was co-founder of the Speech Processing Group, and first director of the Research Center for Technologies and Applications of Language and Speech (TALP) at the UPC. His main research interests lie in the area of speech technologies and general audio processing and classification. His personal academic interests also include ethics of technology and student tutorization/mentoring with emphasys on students with special difficulties.
